This washed coffee from the Gathaithi Factory in Nyeri offers vibrant gooseberry acidity and sweet berry notes, finishing with a hint of lemon tea.

Gathaithi is a cooperative-run factory in Central Kenya, located at 1,450m altitude. Around 1,600 smallholder farmers, each with 100-250 coffee trees, deliver cherries to the station. The farms primarily grow SL varieties, with some Ruiru 11.

Farmers often grow crops like bananas and maize alongside coffee, using trees like Gravellea or macadamia for shade. Many also recycle the cherry pulp as fertilizer by mixing it with manure.
