ANAEROBIC NATURAL JARC 74158
This natural anaerobic lot comes from Mullugeta Muntasha, a standout producer in Arbegona, Sidama. After leaving his long-time job as a truck driver in 2021, he returned to his village in Bursa with a clear goal: to produce exceptional coffee. In just a few seasons, he's earned multiple top spots in the Cup of Excellence and built a strong reputation for quality and innovation.
For this lot, ripe cherries from smallholder outgrowers in Bursa were sealed in tanks and fermented anaerobically for 150 hours. After fermentation, the whole fruit was carefully dried on raised beds, allowing native yeasts to fully develop the coffee's complexity.
The result is a vibrant and expressive cup with tropical acidity, purple grape sweetness, a complex mouthfeel, and a lingering floral aftertaste. A stunning example of what’s possible from Sidama, and one of our favorites this season.
