We are happy to present the latest coffee from Ecuador, a washed Typica Mejorado from Putushio. This is the latest venture from Pepe and Jose Jijon. After the bright coffees of Finca Soledad, this is a new start even further up in the Andes at 2222 meters above sea level.
Putushio is more than a farm. It's an ancient mountain, replete with antique items and rough terrain that imbue this place with what Pepe calls magical energy. Here, the goal number one is to grow Typica Mejorado in a way that expresses the true character of the type and land.
This coffee is a manifestation of that dream. It starts with the bright citric acidity, followed by the subtle sweetness of nectarine. It has a juicy and round body, finishing with the soft clarity of an oolong tea aftertaste.
We are grateful for the chance to introduce to you this lovely message from Ecuador's highlands, where nature, purpose, and history come together in every cup.
