Basha Bekele grows and collects coffee around Bensa in Sidama, where his father once managed a cooperative that supplied the Sidama Union. He now holds his own export licence, farms twelve hectares of semi forest plots, and buys cherry from 126 neighbouring farmers whom he pays a second time once the coffee sells. He took first place in the 2024 Cup of Excellence.
